Maryland Football:
What we learned about Big Ten quarterbacks in Week 1 - Big Ten Blog - ESPN
Although the Terps won pretty comfortably against FCS opponent Richmond there are still questions to be asked about the Maryland offense, and most of them revolve around the consistency of Perry Hills at quarterback.
Big Ten Power Rankings: Illinois, Northwestern moving on up " Big Ten Network
The Terps moved up one spot in this weeks Big Ten Power Rankings according to BTN (which is pretty consistent with other power rankings around the interwebs). With Maryland beating a team even the most fickle fans expected them to defeat, this lack of movement is to be expected. The Terps minimal jump is probably attributed more to Penn States loss than anything else (and I am okay with that).
Big Ten Player Rankings: Miller, Likely top our guys’ lists " Big Ten Network
Senior writer Tom Dienhart and web editor Sean Merriman ranked their top five Big Ten players after the conclusion of week 1. Spoiler Alert: Will Likely is on both of their lists.
It's not all bad for Maryland 'human' Brad Craddock | CSN Mid-Atlantic
"We found out that Brad Craddock was human today," head coach Randy Edsall said after the game. "I know he's disappointed, but I haven't lost any confidence in him."
Brad Craddock Named Lou Groza Award "Star of the Week"
Despite missing a pretty automatic field goal (at least by the standards of one Brad Crad-omatic) and an XP. Last years Groza winner was named the Lou Groza Award "Star of the Week" proving that even when Craddock is off, he is still better than most kickers in the nation.
Freshman Tight End Avery Edwards Adds New Dimension to Terps 'O'
"I want to be the go-to guy at tight end whether it’s blocking or receiving," Edwards said. "I want to be able to do it all. I don’t want to be the guy that it’s third-and-one and they take off the field because it’s a run play. I want to be able to fill every role that the tight end does here, and obviously here, the tight end does everything. Eventually I want to be the guy that’s the everything."
Will Likely named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week - The Diamondback : Sports
This is not news to any of you I am sure, but here is the Diamondback's take on why Will Likely is pretty good, perhaps, dare I say REALLY good at returning kicks.
Former 4-star OL will return to practice field this week | CSN Mid-Atlantic
Despite the return of former 4 star OL Derwin Gray, don't expect to see too many changes along the offensive line in the near future.
Maryland Basketball:
Report: Richaud Pack Signs Overseas Deal
Like many of his former Terp brethren, Richaud Pack has signed a contract overseas with Cyprus club Etha.
Maryland Volleyball:
Maryland volleyball stays undefeated, off to best start since 2005 campaign - The Diamondback : Sports
While a strong start is something for the Maryland volleyball team to hang their hat on, this is not unfamiliar territory. They started last season 6-0 before finishing the 10-21, so despite their early success, their focus is maintained on the looming Big Ten schedule.
Maryland Soccer:
Week #3: Wolverines to Head to No. 4 Maryland for B1G Opener
In an effort to diminish my obvious football/basketball bias, here is a look at the upcoming match vs Michigan from the other side. You'll probably want to skip to the "opponent preview" section as the rest is mostly about the Maize and Blue (Gross)
Terps Sweep Big Weekly Awards-UMTerps
Terps won both the top offensive and defensive honors in the Big Ten last week.
Maryland men's soccer team makes crucial blunders in loss to Akron - The Diamondback : Sports
Key mistakes led to the somewhat 'shocking' defeat of the Maryland soccer team at the hands of the Zips. Here is a more in depth breakdown of said mistakes.
