High school highlights:

How'd He Get to College Park?

After an injury in 2010 limited him to just 600 yards with Good Counsel as a sophomore, Wes Brown topped 1,000 yards in both of his last two high school seasons, earning a bevy of scholarship offers and landing on the Terrapins.

Brown played in eight games as a true freshman in 2012, missing the 2013 season with a suspension after a bizarre wiretapping arrest. He saw a bigger role in the offense in 2014, leading the team in carries but struggling to consistently run the ball for positive yardage.

Career Highlight:

Rushing for 121 yards against NC State.

Dream Season:

Brown ends up taking the starting running back job away from Brandon Ross, showing his blue-chip potential with a career season.

2015 Prospectus:

Brown is currently listed No. 2 on the depth chart behind Ross, but Maryland has shown a preference for using two running backs in the past. Ross had the better year in 2014, but the running backs' styles complement each other, so expect to see quite a bit of Brown, especially in short-yardage situations. Brown is also an excellent pass-catcher, so it is possible he'll see some play on third downs as well.

Up Next:

Our next player has moved back and forth between defensive end and tackle but looks to finally play a major role in the defensive line rotation this season.
