This is your weekly roundup of Maryland non-revenue action. Let's take a look at their chances to win some hardware this season.

Joe Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

It was not the best week in Maryland athletics as a whole. Every team lost and Maryland football was embarrassed at home by Bowling Green.

Big Ten play is here for some teams and close at hand for others.

Men's Soccer

Men's Soccer started the week by dropping a 3-2 game against Akron, their first loss of the season, on Monday after an emotional and draining home win against top-ranked UCLA a couple of days before. They drew with Michigan on Friday night in their Big Ten opener despite being down a man for over 30 minutes.

Record this week: 0-1-1 (3-2 loss to Akron on Monday and a 0-0 draw with Michigan on Friday)

Record this season: 2-1-2

Grade for the week: C.

Title chances: 5. I still like the Terps to win the Big Ten. I believe they have the most talent and their early season performances tell me that they have the chance to make a deep NCAA Tournament run. The Terps started last season poorly and still managed to come back and win the Big Ten. They will start much better this season. A draw with Michigan while down a man for a significant amount of time is not a terrible result.

Field Hockey

Maryland's losing streak reached three games after top-ten Albany beat Maryland 2-1 on Friday. The Terps hadn't lost three in a row since 1998. Maryland came back on Sunday and beat up on American 6-1 to get back to .500 going into a showdown with Northwestern next week.

Record this week: 1-1 (2-1 loss to Albany on Friday and a 6-1 win against American on Sunday)

Record this season: 3-3.

Grade for the week: C. Maryland lost at home to Albany, a team that did the unthinkable in upsetting Maryland at home in the Elite Eight last season. Their win over American was nice but it was expected.

Title chances: 4. I still really like Maryland's chances but I'll know much more after their tilt with Northwestern next Friday. Both teams are ranked and Maryland lost to Northwestern twice last season. If Northwestern wins on Maryland's home field, it will be a huge blow to Maryland's Big Ten title chances.

Volleyball

Maryland faced some better competition over the weekend. They matched their 2014-2015 win total when they beat Navy in five sets on Saturday. They will take on three great teams in Southern Cal, Washington, and Oklahoma before they hit Big Ten play. The losses are about to start piling up since Maryland is about to face great teams week in and week out.

Record this week: 2-1 (3-1 win against Texas Tech on Friday, 3-1 loss to GW and 3-2 win against Navy on Saturday)

Record this season: 10-1

Grade for the week: B+.

Title chances: 0. This team is nowhere near good enough to compete in the Big Ten.

Women's Soccer

Maryland had another mediocre week, going 1-1 at home after going 1-1 on the road last week. They had a poor loss to James Madison and then demolished Yale on Sunday. Maryland's up and down performances do not inspire much confidence as the Terps go into Big Ten play next week.

Record this week: 1-1 (1-0 loss to James Madison on Thursday and a 5-1 win against Yale on Sunday)

Record this season: 5-3

Grade for the week: C.

Title chances: 0. Penn State and Wisconsin are the two best teams in the conference. If Maryland can't handle James Madison, how are they supposed to knock off the top teams in the conference?
