Two of Maryland's top targets made their way into the top 5 of 247Sports updated class of 2017 rankings.
No. 3 Trevon Duval and No. 5 Billy Preston have more in common than just their high ratings, impressive list of offers and desire to share the court at Advanced International Prep in Dallas, Texas. Both highly coveted recruits unofficially visited College Park last month; Preston first on August 19th and Duval on the 25th.
Following his visit, Preston had all nice things to say about Maryland, and listed Maryland, Arizona and USC as schools that were recruiting him the hardest. He also holds offers from Connecticut, Kansas, Oregon, SMU, UCLA and UNLV among others.
Duval has blown up over the past couple of weeks after gaining notice at Under Armour's Elite 24 event. He was boasted as the top guard by some NBA scouts at the event, which included players in the 2016 class. With the recent opening of recruitment, Duval is expecting visits from Maryland, Kansas, Baylor, Arizona and TCU.
