How'd He Get to College Park?

Carter was very lightly recruited out of Westlake High School. He committed to the Terps at the same time Jordan Noil decommitted from the school.

Carter appeared in one game as a true freshman, making his college debut against Iowa. After playing safety his freshman year, Carter converted to corner this spring.

Career Highlight:

Making his college debut against Iowa on October 18.

Dream Season:

Carter acclimates quickly to his new position and and snags a spot at a nickel corner. The starters are firmly entrenched in the secondary, so Carter won't be able to unseat any of them. However, the third and fourth corners will play important roles when the team plays pass-heavy teams, so Carter would see impact minutes.

2015 Prospectus:

Carter is one of many young corners looking to impress the coaching staff this season. He'll have a chance to compete for a starting role in 2016, but Will Likely will likely have one starting role locked up, leaving Carter to compete against Jarrett Ross, Daniel Ezeagwu and potentially Trevon Diggs, if Maryland can sign the blue-chip local.
