High school highlights:

How'd He Get to College Park?

Aniebonam was the Terps highest-rated recruit since Stefon Diggs when he pledged in August of 2013, coming out of high school powerhouse Good Counsel. He was an Army All-American and a Maryland Consensus All-State first team selection as a senior, and garnered offers from top schools throughout the country. He chose to stick with Maryland even though he received offers from the likes of Alabama, Auburn and Florida State.

Aniebonam was stuck in a depth chart logjam at the beginning of the season, and didn't even appear on the two-deep released in late August. However, he made a name for himself quickly, appearing in all 13 games last season. He played mostly on third down, and used his speed to become a pass-rushing threat. After playing outside linebacker as freshman, Aniebonam will be switching to defensive end as the team tranisitions to a 4-3 defense.

Getting in on this sack:

Dream Season:

Aniebonam teams with Yannick Ngakoue to form a mean pass-rushing duo. Aniebonam racks up sacks using his speed and slightly undersized frame.

2015 Prospectus:

Aniebonam should do well with his position change. He'll have to be an impact player for an unexperienced front seven, but he could be the sophomore who has the biggest jump from year one to year two.

Up Next:

Our next player went to a high school with the same name as the state's most well-known active college football coach.
