How'd He Get to College Park?

Dean committed to Maryland in June 2011, and was a two-time all-state selection in high school. After redshirting his freshman year and winning one scout team player of the week award, Dean did not see playing time in 2013.

As a redshirt sophomore in 2014, Dean made his collegiate debut against James Madison. That was his only appearance.

Career Highlight:

Making two straight state final games at Bishop McDevitt.

Dream Season:

Dean is able to make an impact as a second-unit linebacker, setting up a potential starting job in 2016.

2015 Prospectus:

With Abner Logan out for the season with an ACL injury, Dean has an opportunity to see his first meaningful playing time in College Park. Dean was originally listed as Logan's backup on the depth chart, but the injury saw Jefferson Ashiru switch over to the position. Dean will likely back-up Ashiru, and with two true freshmen behind him he stands a good chance of seeing significant playing time this season.
