High school highlights:

How'd He Get to College Park?

Zimmerman visited College Park in June 2014, committing soon after. Zimmerman earned second-team all-state honors as a senior at Wayne, and received all-district and all-league honors twice. He also played in the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.

Career Highlight:

Being selected to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.

Dream Season:

Zimmerman plays well in practice during his redshirt year, setting himself up for a chance at the starting job in 2015.

2015 Prospectus:

Redshirt freshman and Texas native Brendan Moore has continued to impress in his time on campus, and he seems as good a bet as any to take over for Sal Conaboy as the starting center. Senior Stephen Grommer could also contend for the position (or someone like Evan Mulrooney could be kicked inside), leaving Maryland with enough options that it shouldn't have to play a true freshman this season. Zimmerman will likely redshirt and see his role down the line.

Up Next:

Our next player won three straight state championships in Frederick County.
