How'd He Get to College Park?
A Nigerian native, Egbuaba attended ex-Maryland linebacker/fullback Ricardo Dickerson's football camp in 2011, and later ended up at St. Frances in Baltimore, coached by ex-Maryland walk-on Messay Hailemariam. Egbuaba played both football and basketball in high school, earning all-conference and All-Met honors in football.
Egbuaba earned scout team defensive player of the week honors in the lead up to the season opener against James Madison, but had shoulder surgery soon after and redshirted.
Career Highlight:
Scout team defensive player of the week in literally his only in-season week of practice.
Dream Season:
Egbuaba excels on special teams, earning him a spot in the 2016 linebacker rotation.
2015 Prospectus:
Maryland's outside linebacker positions have changed, but Egbuaba's a good fit. He's a talented athlete who is perfectly suited for the role, and should be able to provide help in short pass coverage as well as stopping the run later on in his career. For now, his role will likely be on the special teams unit.
Up Next:
Our next player switched positions despite tremendous success at his old one over the past two years.
