How'd He Get to College Park?
Pritchard was ranked as the second best kicker/punter in the state of New Jersey by Kohl's kicking, and also played goalkeeper for New Egypt's soccer team. He was offered a walk-on role on Maryland's team shortly after starter Nate Renfro announced he would be leaving the program, and accepted soon after.
Career Highlight:
Receiving a walk-on offer from Maryland.
Dream Season:
Pritchard beats out the competition and wins Maryland's starting punter job, bringing consistency to a position that has needed it.
2015 Prospectus:
The punting battle is pretty up in the air for Maryland this year -- Lee Shrader, Nick Rubinowicz and Pritchard appear to be the main candidates, but there's always Groza Award winner Brad Craddock, who has punted in the past as well. Out of the three listed punters (as in, everyone but Craddock), Rubinowicz is the only one on scholarship, while Shrader is the only one that has experience with the team. Those two are probably the favorites, but any of them could win the job.
Up Next:
Our next player shares his first name with a former football player-turned-track star at Maryland and scored the winning touchdown in a game last season, despite not starting in a single game so far in his career.
