Maryland recruiting roundup: Trevon Diggs sets announcement date

Trevon Diggs announces commitment date and remaining visits. Alex Hall becomes the third offensive tackle commit who stands 6’6 or taller.

Head coach Randy Edsall and the Maryland Terrapins snagged their third offensive tackle at 6'6 or taller, when Louisville (OH) tackle Alex Hall pledge to the Terps. Hall will greyshirt, which means he won't participate in any team activities until the spring semester. At 6'6, 265 pounds, the necessity to bulk up for the offensive line position is the reason for the greyshirt, per Terrapin Times. Here's the latest news regarding Maryland football recruiting

  • Four-star Avalon wide receiver/cornerback Trevon Diggs announced he will be committing on July 4th. He plans on visiting Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Miami, Auburn, Virginia Tech and Georgia in June. Maryland and Alabama are considered favorites, but plenty of other national powers have a chance.

  • Landon (MD) linebacker Keith Simms received an offer from Michigan State.

  • Viera (FL) wide receiver Tre Nixon received an offer from Oregon. Nixon, who has been linked to recent Terps commit Dwayne Haskins, is a four-star recruit and stands as the 42nd-ranked wide receiver and 32nd-ranked player in Florida in the class of 2016. The prospect's amazing speed has garnered him an astonishing 46 offers per his 247Sports page.

  • Gilman defensive tackle Ellison Jordan received an offer from Virginia.

  • Fellow Gilman offensive tackle Stephen Spanellis also received an offer from Virginia as well as Arkansas.

  • McKeesport linebacker Tymar Sutton received an offer from Syracuse.

  • Fredericksburg (VA) Stafford Sr. offensive tackle Josh Ball plans on announcing his commitment June 5that the Rivals 100 camp in Baltimore. Ball also received an offer from LSU. The prospect's crystal ball currently favors Florida State with 55% of the picks.

  • Clairton (PA) cornerback Lamont Wade was selected as one of the top-15 athletes at the Rivals Camp Series. Wade also received an offer from Nebraska.

  • 2016 Charlotte, (NC) Independence defensive tackle Christian Colon receive an offer from Miami (FL). Colon plans on announcing in November, and recently listed Maryland amongst his top-5 schools.

  • Carmel, (IN) linebacker Noah Burks visited Maryland this past weekend. Defensive line coach Chad Wilt has positioned the Terps well, as they are one of the schools that significantly stands out to Burks. Wisconsin is listed as the other top tier standout.

  • Groton, (MA) Lawrence Academy 2016 offensive tackle Eddy Fish visited Pittsburgh this weekend. The Terps hold 67% of the 247Sports crystal ball picks.

  • Fredericksburg, (VA) Riverbend offensive tackle Zach Adams received offers from Kentucky and Miami (FL).

  • Imhotep (PA) offensive guard Johncarlo Valentin received an offer from Syracuse. The prospect also received an offer from Auburn, per Ryan Bartown of 247Sports

  • Chesapeake, (VA) Grassfield wide receiver Grant Holloway released his top-10 list and the Terps are included. The three-star prospect is labeled as the 135th-ranked wide receiver and the 35th-ranked player in Virginia.
