Head football coach Randy Edsall and his staff spent this past week on a recruiting mission - nine scholarships were extended. The timing of the offers makes sense, as the NFL draft dominated ESPN this past week and weekend. Having the chance to show a recruit that professional aspirations can come true at the University of Maryland could pay off for Edsall, as former Terps Stefon Diggs and Darius Kilgo heard their names called this past weekend. Matt Robinson, Deon Long and Cole Farrand all inked UDFA deals over the course of the weekend. Andre Monroe has been invited to try out for the Ravens at their minicamp, and Yannick Cudjoe-Virgil has signed with the Tennessee Titans.
Potomac (MD) safety Gregory Ross delayed his commitment announcement on April 26th. Ross was planning on announcing on May 2nd, but decided to push the announcement back to a date to be determined. His crystal ball reads 100% for North Carolina, albeit with only two picks. The Tar Heels have been listed as the favorite ever since offering the prospect in March.
