Terps Star Lexie Brown to Transfer
Brown, a 5-foot-9 sophomore, was a first-team all-Big Ten selection and third-team all-American last season, when she averaged 13.3 points and led the Terps in steals and assists. With leading scorer Laurin Mincy graduating from Maryland's Final Four team, Brown was expected to be the face of Brenda Frese's 2015-2016 squad.

A native of Georgia, Brown said in a release that a desire to finish out her college career closer to home was a motivating factor in her decision to transfer.

Brown is extremely close with her family, and the logistical challenges for her mother and siblings to attend games grew all the more complicated last season when Maryland joined the Big Ten.
