It's no secret that there's one player in the 2016 class Maryland's football staff values above all else: Bullis (Md.) quarterback Dwayne Haskins. One of the top passers in the country, the Terrapins have been recruiting him for quite some time now and hope to add him to what could be an historic haul for the program.
As well as being one of the most talented players in the area, Haskins is connected to recruits all over the country. Maryland coaches are hoping he can be the impetus for a larger movement for local prospects to stay home.
Haskins is rated the No. 64 overall prospect in the country by the 247Sports Composite, ranking as the No. 5 pro-style quarterback in the 2016 class and the second-best prospect in the state of Maryland. Of 41 current Crystal Ball predictions, 54 percent have him going to the Terps. LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Alabama, Penn State and Rutgers are among the prospect's other notable suitors.
