NCAA women's basketball selection show: How, when and where to watch it

Tonight's the night we learn if the Maryland women's basketball team did enough to earn a No. 1 seed. We'll also learn if they'll be in a region close to home or make a second trip to Spokane.

Mike DiNovo-USA TODAY Sports

There's been lots of waiting by a metaphorical phone for the Maryland women's basketball team and its fans since the Terps completed their barely precedented undefeated run through the Big Ten regular season and tournament. As with the men's team, the only questions hovering over the Terrapins' women's squad are their seeding and region.

ESPN's Charlie Creme, probably the premier women's basketball bracketologist, slotted the Terps as the top seed in the Spokane Region. And if all of his projections are accurate, he anticipates a possible rematch with Louisville for the second consecutive year in the Elite Eight. That is supposition. Of this, we can be certain: Whatever its seed or region, Maryland will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
