College basketball rankings, Week 14: Maryland falls to No. 19 in AP Poll

New, comments

After beating Penn State at home and losing to Iowa on the road, Maryland dropped again in the most recent AP Poll.

Maryland remained in the AP Poll, despite suffering another blowout loss on the road this week, checking in at No. 19 in this week. This represents Maryland's lowest ranking since they were 19th on Dec. 8, their second week in the poll. Voters appear to be growing skeptical of the Terps, who suffered their third-straight road loss, all of which were by 16 or more points.

Maryland will have two opportunities to pick up wins this week, when they host Indiana on Wednesday and travel to Penn State for a Saturday evening game against the Nittany Lions.

Virginia, who beat Maryland in College Park early this season, moved back into the No. 2 spot after a decisive win against Louisville last week. Wisconsin remained the highest ranked B1G team, checking in at No. 5. Ohio State, which made appearances in the poll earlier this year, was once again among the Top 25 this week, checking in at No. 23.
