Virginia seems to get forgotten about a bit with regards to the movement, but Maryland will still bring in a few prospects from our southern neighbor on National Signing Day. One of those is three-star linebacker Gus Little, who officially signed with the Terrapins on Wednesday.
Little racked up 147 tackles in 14 games as a senior for Massaponax High School in Fredericksburg — that's more than 10 a game. The inside linebacker also recorded five sacks and seems to be a perfect fit in the inside of the Terps' 3-4 defense.
Speaking of Maryland's defense, there will be openings for Little as both Cole Farrand and L.A. Goree are graduating. Abner Logan and Jermaine Carter Jr. have to be considered the frontrunners to take over in the vacated spots, but the 6-foot-3, 230-pound Little will have an opportunity to grab an immediate spot. A three-star prospect by the 247Sports Composite, he ranks as the No. 50 inside linebacker in the nation and the No. 40 player in Virginia.
