We're now just over a month away from Selection Sunday. As conference schedules begin to hit their home stretch, we have a pretty good sense of which teams are good, which teams are bad and which teams have work left to do in order to impress the committee before they announce the field of 68 on March 15.
Maryland has certainly hit a rough patch as a team. They're 2-3 over their past five games and the two wins they did pick up weren't exactly impressive considering the teams they were facing and the nature in which they won. But as we look at projections, there are a few things you need to keep in mind about Maryland:
1. They've beaten some very good teams, several of which came on the road or at a neutral site -- Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Arizona State, Michigan State (twice).
2. Maryland hasn't lost to a bad team. Their worst loss was to Illinois, who is currently the 57th-best team according to KenPom, and that loss came on the road.
3. While Maryland has struggled, other teams have struggled as well. Once you drop below the top 10-15 teams, things become a bit murky. And when you can point to Maryland's full body of work this season, they stand out as a team that has accomplished a lot, despite their recent skid.
Keeping all of that in mind, here are the latest projections for Maryland:
