Maryland faces Penn State Wednesday evening to kick off conference play for both teams. Penn State sits at 9-4, coming off a six-point victory against Kent State, while Maryland comes into play sporting an 11-1 record after its most recent victory against the Thundering Herd of Marshall. This is the 19th time overall that Penn State and Maryland have met on the hardwood, with the Terps holding an 11-to-8 edge all time.
Last season the Terps defeated the Nittany Lions both times they played one-another. Each contest was, perhaps surprisingly, heavily competitive, with Maryland winning the game in College Park by six, and the game up north by three. Relive my experiences in State College during the game last year, if interested. However, this year Maryland only plays Penn State once, at Xfinity Center.
Maryland comes into this game as a heavy favorite, and many of us are hoping to cruise to an early conference win, but let's not forget this is college basketball after all. Let us know your predictions for the game, which tips off at 5 p.m. on ESPN2. Here's all the info you need to watch today's game if you won't be in College Park.
