Maryland's men's basketball team returns home to College Park Saturday afternoon for a match-up against the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The Terps have never lost to the Hawks, winning all sixteen of the previous match-ups. The two teams last met in 2012, a 100-68 Terrapins victory.
The Terps enter Saturday's game coming off an impressive 76-66 win against Connecticut at Madison Square Garden last Tuesday. Maryland was able to get to the free throw line all night and dominated the glass, while also taking advantage of pick-and-roll plays and smart defense to secure their eighth win of the season.
UMES enters Saturday's game with a 1-8 record, having lost most recently to No. 1 Michigan State, 78-35. The Hawks lone win came against St. Francis, who the Terrapins defeated 96-55 on December 4th. The Hawks are led by senior guard Devin Martin, who is averaging and impressive 14.4 ppg, 4.1 rpg and 2.3 assists per game.
