Men's Soccer

After being starved for offense when they needed it most, the Terps exploded for five goals against Michigan, downing the Wolverines 5-2. Maryland will advance to the Big Ten semifinals and still has a chance to defend their Big Ten tournament title.

Grade for the week: A+. Maryland put forth a great offensive performance and they are one step closer to defending their Big Ten tournament title from a year ago. Winning the tournament would go a long way in helping their NCAA tournament seeding.

Title chances: 4. Maryland has a great shot at retaining their Big Ten tournament title. They need two more wins in order to do it.

#7 Field Hockey

Maryland field hockey won their first ever Big Ten tournament title this week, defeating Michigan State (3-2) in the quarters, Northwestern (2-1 in double overtime) in the semis and then demolishing No. 10 Michigan (5-1) in the final.

Record this week: 3-0 (3-2 win over Michigan State, 2-1 double overtime win over Northwestern and a 5-1 win over No. 10 Michigan)

Record this season: (19-3, 8-0)

Grade for the week: A+. The Terps took care of business and swept the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles for the first time in program history. Their dominance in the final may help them get close to a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Title chances: 4. The Terps just won the Big Ten tournament title for the first time in program history and swept the regular season and tournament titles for the first time as well. Maryland has a very good shot to win the NCAA Championship but the title runs through UConn, the two-time defending national champions.

Volleyball

Maryland volleyball took a huge step forward this week. On Thursday, the Terrapins took the first set from top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Penn State. On Friday night, they went a step further. The Terps knocked off No. 12 Ohio State in straight sets. Maryland hadn't beaten a ranked volleyball team in over five years.

Record this week: 1-1 (3-1 loss against Penn State and 3-0 win against No. 12 Ohio State)

Record this season: (13-15, 3-11)

Grade for the week: A-. The Terps split over the weekend against the No. 1 and No. 12 teams in the country. Not a bad week. The reason that the Terps get the A- is because they didn't play very well in the second and third set against Penn State.

Title chances: 0. The Terps have no shot at winning the Big Ten title.
