Maryland defeated Pitt 70-49 Saturday to capture the Pardise Jam title. Junior center Brionna Jones notched a double-double, scored a game-high 22 points on 10/17 shooting, while also grabbing 14 rebounds. Jones also recorded two steals, a block and an assist.
Junior guard Shatori Walker-Kimbrough (16 pts) and freshman forward Kiah Gillespie (10 pts) also reached double figures for Maryland. Seven different players scored for the Terrapins, who improved to 6-0 on the season.
The Terps held Pittsburgh to just 34.5 percent shooting from the field while making 45.9 percent of their attempts. Amazingly, Maryland out rebounded Pitt by 28, 50 to 22.
Maryland committed 26 turnovers, 10 more than the Panthers, but were still able to win by 21. The Terps led Pitt 33-22 at the break behind Jones' 12 points.
Maryland returns home to College Park to face the Syracuse Orange on Wednesday, December 2nd, as part of the B1G-ACC Challenge.
