Maryland takes on the Vikings of Cleveland State Saturday evening at Xfinity Center. The Terps return home after defeating Illinois State and Rhode Island to capture the Cancun Classic. The Terps played their best game of the season against the Rhode Island on Wednesday, scoring a season-high 86 points. Five different Maryland players finished with at least ten points, led by Melo Trimble and Rasheed Sulaimon, who each scored 17.
The Terps had struggled to play up to their potential for most of this season, especially early in games, but had no such issues on Wednesday. building a 12-point lead just over seven minutes into the first half. For the first time all season, Maryland looked like a team worth of their No. 2 ranking. They led by as many as 29 in the second half and finished with a 23 point victory over a talented Rhode Island team.
Maryland now turns their attention to Cleveland State before traveling to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina in the B1G-ACC Challenge next week.
