Field Hockey's Welma Luus won the Testudo Times Terp of the Week poll last week after her four-goal performance in the Big Ten Tournament Final. This week's poll will feature men's soccer's Cody Niedermeier, Tsubasa Endoh and Eryk Williamson, women's basketball's Brene Moseley, volleyball's Adreene` Elliott and men's basketball's Jake Layman.
Cody Niedermeier, Men's Soccer -
Recorded six saves in regulation and overtime against Indiana and then helped Maryland win the shootout, getting the Hoosiers to miss their final four penalty kicks. He was named the Big Ten Tournament defensive MVP after shutting out the No. 12 Buckeyes in the final.
Tsubasa Endoh, Men's Soccer -
Endoh scored a goal in the first half against Indiana in the semis and then scored the tournament clinching goal in the final against Ohio State to help Maryland win its second straight Big Ten Tournament title. He was named the Big Ten Tournament offensive MVP.
Eryk Williamson, Men's Soccer -
Scored the first of Maryland's two goals in the Big Ten Tournament final against Ohio State and was named to the All-Tournament team.
Brene Moseley, Women's Basketball -
Moseley scored a game-high 24 points and added 10 assists as the Terps rolled over UMass Lowell, 102-53, in their season opener.
Adreene` Elliott, Volleyball -
While the Terps lost both of their matches to ranked teams in four sets last week, Elliott supplanted two of her former teammates, Ashleigh Crutcher and Mary Cushman, to take sole possession of fourth place on Maryland's all-time kills list.
Jake Layman, Men's Basketball -
Layman scored a team-high 16 points on 7-10 shooting. He also chipped in with five boards, two blocks and two steals as Maryland won their season opener, 80-56, over Mt. Saint Mary's.
