ESPN's Joe Lunardi projects Maryland basketball as No. 1 seed in NCAA Tournament
Real basketball starts Friday, so this should be one of the very last pieces of preseason praise for Mark Turgeon's team. ESPN "bracketologist" Joe Lunardi pegs the Terrapins as a No. 1 seed in March's NCAA Tournament, drawing the top slot in the West region, with North Carolina finishing as the No. 1 overall seed and therefore taking the East. Lunardi projects Maryland to start in Brooklyn (which is actually quite possible), with a possible round-of-32 match against North Carolina State.
