Maryland's noon game at Ohio State on Saturday will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. Terps fans looking for a television contingency plan if that game gets out of hand early, however, will be disappointed.
The 12 p.m. slate of games this weekend is about as dry as it gets. LSU's game against South Carolina is probably the best bet by virtue of Leonard Fournette's presence, but that's dampened by the Gamecocks not actually being good. Oklahoma and Texas have a legitimate rivalry match, but that, too, is lessened by Texas's current state of ineptitude. Indiana and Penn State – two wholly boring Big Ten teams – might actually be the best thing to watch.
Real reinforcements don't show up until 3:30, with Georgia-Tennessee (CBS) and Georgia Tech-Clemson (ESPN2/ABC). The Big Ten has two good ones in that hour, also: Northwestern-Michigan (BTN) and Wisconsin-Nebraska (ABC/ESPN2).
The day's best contests are clustered at night. Oklahoma State-West Virginia (7 p.m., ESPN2) is a good one. So are Florida-Missouri (7:30, SEC Network) and Miami-Florida State (8, ABC). All in all, this isn't a bad viewing day. Choose wisely.
