How'd She Get to College Park?

Ellison says she came to Maryland because it had "everything she could want in a school." (She's in the school's broadcast journalism program.) She was the No. 45 overall player in the class of 2014 according to the All-Star Girls Report and No. 59 by Blue Star, and Maryland recruited her as one of the top players in New Jersey. She played limited minutes as a freshman for Brenda Frese's team.

Career Highlight

Ellison had an important rebound to help seal a win over Nebraska last season.

Dream Season

Ellison sees a minutes increase and finds a major role in a frontcourt that also features five-star freshmen Kiah Gillespie and Brianna Fraser, as well as veterans Malina Howard and Tierney Pfirman.

2015-16 Prospectus

It's hard to say. Ellison has a significant recruiting pedigree and a lot of talent, but Maryland has both seniors and freshmen with a lot of experience and ability at the forward positions. She's not going to spend much time on the perimeter (she didn't try a three-pointer last year), but she could find space to operate around the basket.
