It's Week 7, which means all of college football will be halfway through its season after this weekend's games. Maryland is on bye ahead of next Saturday's date with Penn State at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium, and that's for the best. Because if there were ever a weekend for Maryland to not play and Terps fans to still have plenty of great viewing options, this is it. If you like college football, this weekend is a goldmine.
There are two pretty nice watches on Thursday night, before the weekend even begins in earnest. Auburn is having a bad year, but Kentucky's sort of on the ups, so their game (7 p.m., ESPN) should at least feature a raucous Lexington atmosphere. No. 18 UCLA at No. 15 Stanford (10:30, ESPN) is a juggernaut of a Pac-12 game.
Saturday's going to be cool, too. In the Big Ten, Actual Good Teams No. 17 Iowa and No. 20 Northwestern meet at noon on ABC, and No. 7 Michigan State and No. 12 Michigan play what should be a real doozy at 3:30 on ESPN. Later at night, Penn State visits No. 1 Ohio State (8, ABC), in a game where the Buckeyes just might be vulnerable enough to lose.
It's a fun weekend in the SEC, too. No. 10 Alabama against No. 9 Texas A&M (3:30, CBS) is pretty good, but maybe a bit less so than No. 8 Florida (even without suspended quarterback Will Grier) at No. 6 LSU (7, ESPN).
No matter your tastes, Saturday has you covered.
