Bracketology - Where does Maryland basketball stand following the start of conference play?

As Maryland continues to win and establish themselves as one of the best teams in the B1G, their projected seeding in the NCAA Tournament continues to climb as well.

Derik Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Time for our weekly check-in on where various bracketologists are projecting Maryland in their latest NCAA Tournament fields. As I said previously, there is a lot of basketball to be played. A lot will happen between now and Selection Sunday. The NCAA Tournament Field that is announced on March 15th is going to be a lot different than what people are projecting now. But that doesn't mean looking at projections is a worthless exercise. With that in mind, let's take a look at where people think the Terps currently stand.

ESPN's Joe Lunardi

As we mentioned yesterday, ESPN's resident bracketoligist Joe Lunardi updated his bracket for the first time since November and has Maryland as a 3-seed, playing in the same bracket as Duke. Previously, Lunardi had the Terps out of the tournament.

CBS Sports

CBS has Maryland as a 3-seed, in the same bracket as Kentucky. Previously, CBS had Maryland as a 4-seed. Things people want to avoid at all costs in the NCAA Tournament for as long as possible - Kentucky.

Sports Illustrated

SI has Maryland as a 3-seed in the West, where they give Virginia the 1-seed. They had Maryland as a 4-seed last week. It would be great for Maryland to have the chance to face Virginia again and knock them out of the Tournament.

College Sports Madness

Terps are a 5-seed, which is where they had Maryland last week. At this point, that seems incredibly low. Celebrate, Maryland fans. We've reached the point where we can complain about seedings being too low instead of not being in the field at all.

M & J's NCAA Basketball Bracket Watch

They have Maryland as a 3-seed.
