Maryland-Michigan State GameThread, Part II

First place in the Big Ten is on the line as the Terrapins and Spartans collide in College Park.

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Maryland welcomes Michigan State to College Park for just the second time, with the all-time series tied 3-3. The Terps will look to avenge the 95-75 drubbing that the Spartans delivered - in 1955. Since no one remembers that game from 1955, Maryland would also like to repay the Spartans for the 2010 buzzard beater by "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named!"

What a difference two and half weeks makes. When the Terps visited East Lansing, the Spartans were struggling, having recently lost to Texas Southern. Since Maryland's double-overtime victory, Michigan State has bounced back and won three in a row. Guard Travis Trice leads the Big Ten in assists per game (6.8) and is fourth in scoring (18.8 ppg). Forward Branden Dawson has fully recovered from the fractured wrist that plagued him the last time these two teams played. Dawson has posted two double-doubles and shot over 50% from the floor over his last three games. The Terps have their work cut out for them today.
