The Maryland Terrapins defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 73-65 on Wednesday night. The Terps improved to 16-2 on the season, including 4-1 in the Big Ten.
Senior Dez Wells led the way with 17 points, but four Terps finished in double figures. Freshman Jared Nickens shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc to finish with 12, while junior Jake Layman added 12 points and a career-high 13 rebounds. Freshman Melo Trimble scored 11.
