Friday could be a pretty major day for Maryland football. Four-star defensive tackle commitment Adam McLean has hinted at some imminent big-time commitments, and there have been rumors flying that the Terrapins could pick up some pledges on the day. McLean will be at the Under Armour All-America Game Friday afternoon, a game with five potential Maryland targets. The day's other two high school all-star games have three targets and one Maryland commitment between them.
The first game of the day is the closest to watch: the Under Armour All-America Game. Maryland once received a commitment from Wes Brown at the game, and this was specifically the event McLean was talking about -- he even name-dropped a number of top prospects. Five-star Florida defensive end Byron Cowart, a pipe dream for Maryland fans, will be playing in the game and could make his decision at the event. Florida State commit Kai Locksley, the son of Maryland offensive coordinator Mike Locksley, will also play in the game. Blue-chip 2016 quarterback prospect Dwayne Haskins will also be at the event.
Later in the afternoon, the Army All-American Game will feature offensive tackle Isaiah Prince, the top prospect in the state of Maryland. He's the Terrapins' top realistic priority in the class, and would make it three out of four years that Maryland has landed the state's top prospect. Later on is the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl, where interior offensive lineman Mason Zimmerman, committed to Maryland, will play.
Here's our full breakdown of the day's events. Our definition of "target" is going to be pretty wide this time around. We're going to include any names notable to Maryland fans -- the important ones to keep track of are listed above, anyway.
