Maryland football depth chart: Juwann Winfree, Evan Mulrooney make first appearances on two-deep

After Saturday's disappointing three-point loss to West Virginia, Maryland has made a few changes to their depth chart ahead of this week's matchup at Syracuse.

True freshman Juwann Winfree, a former four-star prospect, is now Deon Long's backup at one of the wide receiver posts. Long's previous backup, Amba Etta-Tawo, is now the co-backup to Marcus Leak with Malcolm Culmer. Winfree has not yet played in a game this season -- the participation chart notes outside linebacker Jesse Aniebonam and cornerback Daniel Ezeagwu are the only true freshmen to play in a game for Maryland this year.

The rest of the changes occurred on the offensive line, a unit that struggled against the Mountaineers' front seven. Evan Mulrooney returns to the two-deep after missing the first three weeks while recovering from a viral infection, and is currently slotted as Silvano Altamirano's backup at left guard. Mike Minter, formerly the co-star with Altamirano at the position, has moved to right guard (backing up Andrew Zeller and replacing Maurice Shelton). At center, Stephen Grommer has beat out Brendan Moore for the back-up job.
