The Big Ten Network announced its schedule of nationally televised field hockey and women's soccer games Wednesday. The network continues to show why the conference wanted to add Maryland as as a member. They again chose to feature one of the Terrapins' traditionally strongest squads. The BTN will air six regular season field hockey games and two of those will originate in College Park. The women's soccer team will also make two national appearances on the network.

Women's soccer leads off with back to back broadcasts. The first happens on Thursday, September 25 when the Terps travel to Iowa City to take on the Iowa Hawkeyes in the what will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. Maryland will then make the relatively short 300 mile trek west to Lincoln for another first time meeting, this time taking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers the following Sunday. The game in Iowa begins at 3:30 eastern time while the sunday contest begins half an hour earlier.

The first of the field hockey telecasts occurs on October 3 when Ohio State comes to Maryland. The Terps have faced the Buckeyes seven times, most recently in 2012 when they romped to a 5-0 win in College Park. Maryland has never lost to Ohio State. That game will have a 3:00 pm face off.

Penn State is a bit of a different story. Although they last lost to the Nittany Lions in 1992, the Terrapins stand only 11-20-1 in the all time series. The squads last faced one another in 2009 when Maryland romped to an 8-1 win. The game, on October 10, is scheduled for another 3:00 pm face off.

The BTN will also televise the semifinals and finals of the conference tournament for both field hockey and women's soccer.

Other Maryland games should be available on BTN Plus. The full schedule of games will be released at a later date.
