The University of Maryland Athletic Department announced today that they will begin selling tickets for fall and winter sports on Friday August 1. Volleyball and wrestling will be added to men's and women's soccer as ticketed sports. Men's and women's soccer have required tickets for several years but the 2014-2015 season will be the first time admission will be charged for volleyball and wrestling.
The Maryland volleyball team will play ten home matches all against B1G foes beginning with a match against Indiana at 7:00 pm on Friday October 3. Defending national champion Penn State comes to the Xfinity Center on November 22. Individual tickets for volleyball will be $6 for adults. Fans between the ages of 3 and 17 and fans over 62 will receive a $2 discount. Volleyball fans can also purchase season tickets for $25 to $40.
Men's soccer tickets will be $10 for individual games with a 50 percent discount for seniors and youth. Women's soccer tickets will be priced the same as the tickets for volleyball. Soccer season ticket packages will be available for between $40 and $70 and will include admission to all home soccer games - men's and women's.
Tickets for wrestling matches will go on sale later this month. Wrestling's price structure will follow that of men's soccer with the exception of the home matches against B1G foes Penn State, Minnesota and Iowa. Tickets for adults attending these matches will be $15 while youth and seniors will receive a $5 discount. Maryland did not announce a wrestling season ticket package.
Maryland is also offering an alternative to individual match tickets and single sport season tickets - the Maryland Pride Pass. A single Pride Pass costs $99 and includes admission to all regular season Olympic sports for the entire year. Thus a single Pride Pass will gain admission to volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, wrestling, baseball, men's lacrosse, and women's lacrosse. For $150, Maryland is also offering a Pride Pass + guest.
At the present time, admission for regular season home field hockey, gymnastics, indoor and outdoor track and field, and softball games remains free of charge.
