Watchlist season is fully underway. A day after Sal Conaboy was named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List and two days after Stefon Diggs was named to the watch lists for the Maxwell and Hornung Awards, Maryland kicker Brad Craddock was named to the 2014 Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Watch List, the school announced.
Craddock was a semifinalist for the award in 2013. He converted on 21 of his 25 field goal attempts, showing marked improvement from a shaky freshman season to become a consistent presence on special teams.
His presence has already been felt in Maryland's history books. Craddock's 84% mark on field goals last season ranks fourth-highest in school history, and he ranks second in school history in career field goal percentage (75.6%). He also ranks ninth in program history in made field goals and points scored by a kicker.
The Adelaide, Australia native was successful on all but one of his 38 extra point attempts. He also took kick-offs for the Terps, recording touchbacks on 17.39% of kicks. As a freshman in 2012, he made 10 of 16 field goals and 23 of 25 extra points.
