Maryland is still very much in the thick of the 2015 class, but the 2016 crop of recruits far exceeds 2015 in terms of talent around College Park. The Terps do not yet have a commitment in the 2016 class, but will be hoping that changes soon with some players getting ready to announce.
One of the most highly-coveted of those recruits is five-star DeMatha (Md.) Catholic High School defensive end Shane Simmons, who is also the first of that group of players to make his college decision. Ranked as the 29th-best player in the country, he's also considered the second-best strong-side defensive end in the nation and the best prospect in the state of Maryland. Simmons will be announcing Wednesday afternoon in a live hat ceremony broadcast on ESPN.com.

Simmons' finalists, for those that can't see the hats, are Florida State, Penn State, Alabama, Ohio State and Maryland. The Seminoles are the big favorites, carrying more than three-quarters of the projections on his Crystal Ball.
