How'd He Get to College Park?
McMahon was a multi-sport athlete and starred as the captain of both the football and basketball team in his junior and senior years. He was a duel-threat quarterback in high school and was named Baltimore All-Metro and All-Howard County in 2011. Graduating with a 3.9 GPA, McMahon was heavily recruited by Ivy League schools but opted to stay in state and join the Terps. He redshirted in his freshman season and failed to see the field last season.
Profiling the entire team
Roca hails from Puerto Rico and attended St. John's School on the island, where he excelled in soccer, basketball, track and football. He spent last season as a redshirt, but was named scout team special teams player of the week against Old Dominion.

2014 Prospectus:
The pair of walk on tight ends are at the bottom of the depth chart as of now, sitting 5th and 6th behind projected starter P.J. Gallo. McMahon was wildly the backup quarterback in his true freshman season after injury beget injury in the cursed 2012 campaign, so stranger things have happened to give these kids a chance to take the field. There are questions surrounding the production at tight end after Dave Stinebaugh graduated and McMahon and Roca could provide some versatility and athleticism off of the bench.
