How'd He Get to College Park?
Dunn was a tackle and guard at Whitman, where he was named lineman of the year in 2011. He was named second team all-county as a senior, and walked on to the team prior to the 2012 season.
Profiling the entire team
During his first season on campus, Dunn redshirted -- a rarity for walk-ons, suggesting the coaches saw potential. Last season showed they were right. Dunn broke through in spring camp, wresting the starting right guard slot from Andrew Zeller and holding on to it for the first nine games of the season. After Mike Madaras left the program, Dunn moved over to right tackle, where he stayed for the rest of the season.
Everything about last season.
Dunn holds on to one starting job or another, setting up an incredible career arc.
It's very likely that former walk-on Michael Dunn beats the odds and earns a starting job once again. He's shown his versatility along the line, starting at both guard and tackle spots last season. He's the lone starter at right tackle on the spring depth chart, but the additions of Damian Prince and Derwin Gray may very well change that. I picture Dunn battling with Doyle and Gray for one of the tackle spots, and sliding inside to play one of the guard positions (along with Andrew Zeller) if he loses that battle.
Our next player is the best interview on the team.
