Maryland recruiting roundup: Three-star CB Kareem Ali set to announce decision Thursday

Maryland also makes the cut for Kai Locksley and Auden Tate, and plenty of new offers are out.

Football:

Maryland picked up three commitments this weekend -- three-star defensive tackle Keiron Howard, three-star athlete Ty Johnson and quarterback Gage Shaffer. We'll have more on the three of them later this week, but Johnson earned three-star status shortly after his commitment, ranking as the 26th-best player in the state of Maryland.

Three/four-star cornerback Kareem Ali, who has been absolutely blowing up the camp circuit, visited Maryland and announced he will be making his decision Thursday. This bodes extremely well for the Terps -- both due to the timing of the visit and because he will no longer be visiting Louisville (update: he will). Ali will be choosing between the Terps, Pittsburgh, Lousville and Rutgers, but also holds offers from Florida, Michigan State and Penn State, among others.

Four-star Gilman (Md.) quarterback Kai Locksley released his top six schools, with Maryland making the cut. Joining the Terps are Auburn, Virginia Tech, Texas, Oregon and Florida State.

Four-star Wharton (Fla.) wide receiver Auden Tate released his top 10 schools, with Maryland making the cut there as well. Michigan, Georgia, Florida State, Florida, Ohio State, Miami, Missouri, South Carolina and Clemson are also still under consideration.

The Terps offered three-star Calvert Hall College (Md.) wide receiver Lawrence Cager, who holds offers from Rutgers and Wake Forest and has interest from Oklahoma State, Michigan State and Ohio State.

Maryland has also offered three-star Good Counsel (Md.) defensive end Darius Fullwood, who holds offers from Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Florida State and Miami, among others.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes (D.C.) outside linebacker Isaiah Davis, the younger brother of starting Maryland safety Sean Davis, visited College Park for camp and picked up an offer. He also picked up offers from camps at Boston College and Virginia Tech.

Three-star Bolingbrook (Ill.) defensive end Micah Dew-Treadway visited College Park.

Three-star DeMatha (Md.) safety/cornerback Tyler Green committed to Ohio State, continuing Maryland's drought with prospects at the local powerhouse.

Three-star St. Joseph Regional (N.J.) outside linebacker Joe Giles-Harris committed to Duke.

Three-star Wilson (D.C.) outside linebacker Kareem McDonald committed to Old Dominion.

Palmyra (N.J.) 2016 wide receiver Kelvin Harrison attended this weekend's camp, as did Hillside (N.C.) cornerback Gerald Wilkes, Red Bank Catholic (N.J.) 2016 QB Eddie Hahn and Gilman (Md.) 2016 four-star DT Ellison Jordan.

Three-star Sayreville War Memorial (N.J.) athlete Myles Hartsfield committed to Penn State.

Three-star South Brunswick (N.J.) athlete Dontae Strickland committed to Syracuse.

Four-star Rancho Verde (Calif.) quarterback Sheriron Jones committed to Florida.

Josh Teachey, a cornerback out of Maurice J. McDonough (Md.) who was a potential backup option if the Terps missed on some of their primary targets at the position, committed to Toledo.
