And just like that, the Terps are one win away from their first ever berth at the College World Series in Omaha. Maryland and Virginia hit the diamond for game two of the three game series, with Maryland stealing the first one from the Cavaliers on the Wahoos' home soil. The Terps mustered 10 hits, lead by Charlie White's three hit performance, on their way to a 5-4 nail-biting win. The story for Virginia was its inability to score runners in scoring position. All in all, the Cavs stranded 14 runners compared to Maryland's six.
Maryland continues their hot streak, winning their last 15 of 17 ball games including wins over powerhouse programs like Florida State, South Carolina twice and Virginia twice. Virginia enters the ballgame winning their last 10 of 15.
