Aniebonam may have been overshadowed by the commitment of Damian Prince, but he's one of the top talents to come to College Park in years.

High School Highlights:

How'd He Get to College Park?

Aniebonam was one of the top players in the nation coming out of Good Counsel, and committed to the Terps in August, continuing Maryland's recent success with blue-chip Good Counsel prospects (like Stefon Diggs, Wes Brown and Mike Madaras). Along with Diggs and Brown, Aniebonam will join Zach Dancel and Andrew Stefanelli as former Good Counsel players on the Terrapin roster.

Aniebonam helped lead the Falcons to the WCAC semifinals, and was named a consensus first-team All-State player. He also was selected to play in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl.

Nickname:

"Pinkman"

Career Highlight:

Signing with Maryland.

Dream Season:

Aniebonam plays a similar role that Yannick Ngakoue did last season, playing on special teams and filling in at WILL linebacker.

2014 Prospectus:

Aniebonam will likely enter the summer fourth on Maryland's depth chart at WILL, behind expected starter Yannick Cudjoe-Virgil as well as Yannick Ngakoue and Clarence Murphy. He's being moved from his projected defensive end position to a more fitting role at the pass-rushing linebacker spot -- a place Marcus Whitfield, Cudjoe-Virgil and Ngakoue excelled at last season. Beyond this season, they're going to need to find a way to get Ngakoue and Aniebonam on the field at the same time (a move back to defensive end could possibly be in store), but for now the Terps just have an insane amount of talent and depth at the position.
