The Round of 16 begins with two South American fiestas.

Well Group Stage is officially history and now we are into the survive and advance portion of the World Cup. 16 teams remain and all have a do-or-die mentality to hoist the Cup.

Today's matchups

Brazil takes on Chile in a South American duel at 12:00 p.m. ET. Brazil won Group A after defeating Croatia and Cameroon and drawing to Mexico. Chile took second in Group B following wins to Australia and defending champs Spain, but falling to group winner Netherlands. This is going to be an exciting matchup now that it's win or go home. Neymar is looking to keep his home crowd appeased while Alexis Sanchez and company look to spoil the party.

We will stick with South America in the second matchup as Colombia and Uruguay duel in Brazil. Colombia has been a bit of a surprise team, winning all three of their matches handily even without injured superstar Falcao. Uruguay is playing without a perennial goal scorer of their own, as FIFA suspended Luis Suarez for his third biting offense for the remainder of the World Cup and four additional months. In the first match of the Cup without Suarez, Uruguay dropped to Costa Rica 3-1.
