Three-star Middletown (Md.) offensive tackle Will McClain has become the latest local player to join the Terps' class, IMS is reporting. McClain chose Maryland over offers from West Virginia, Temple, Rutgers, Old Dominion and James Madison.
The Frederick County prospect is rated a three-star by the 247sports composite, rated as the 116th-best offensive tackle in the nation and the 24th-best player in the state of Maryland. He is listed at 6'5 and weighs in at 290 pounds. We'll have a film review on him later on in the week, but resident film expert FlaTerp loves the kid -- he's strong, he's mean and he's local.
McClain joins fellow in-state offensive line commits Ellis McKennie and E.J. Donahue, as well as three-star Ohio center Mason Zimmerman. He is the 15th commit in the class, and will help solidify Maryland's new spot in the Top 25 of the national recruiting rankings.
Here are his highlights from his junior season. He's the big guy crushing people.
