NCAA Baseball Tournament 2014: Maryland vs. South Carolina game time, TV schedule, live radio streaming and more

The Terps look to continue their success with a matchup against the toughest team in the region.

After a dramatic, frankly unbeleivable win over Old Dominion in which the Terrapins came from behind thanks to back-to-back bases loaded hit batters in the bottom of the ninth, Maryland faces an even tougher test Saturday night when they take on the South Carolina Gamecocks.

South Carolina is the host of the Columbia Regional, and with good reason -- the Gamecocks led the SEC with a 2.37 ERA and are ranked No. 13 in the Coaches Poll after posting a 43-16 record. They defeated Campbell 5-2 Friday, and will now have to deal with the lucky Terrapins.

As Andrew notes in his great preview, South Carolina will send out crafty southpaw Jack Wynkoop (2.71 ERA, 57 Ks, 10 BBs) to face Terrapin freshman Mike Shawaryn (2.70 ERA, 67 Ks, 21 BBs) on the mound. The winner of this game will advance to the regional championship round, needing just one win out of two games to advance to the Super Regionals. The loser will play the winner of Campbell/Old Dominion in an elimination game.

Maryland holds a 24-15 advantage in the all-time series. Go ahead and use the comments in this post as the GameThread come game time.
