Maryland and Old Dominion hit the diamond in the first game of the 2014 NCAAT for each team. The Terps enter the game on a hot streak, winning 11 of their last 13 ballgames, including upsets over top seeds Virginia and Florida State. Maryland's great play as of late gave them their first NCAAT appearance since 1971, breaking a long, long streak in which the program had seen many low points. Coach John Szefc has led a tremendous turn around in just two seasons at the helm as Maryland prepares to enter the conference of their former head coach -- Michigan's Erik Bakich -- next season.
Old Dominion has won 9 of their last 13 contests including a big win over top seeded Rice before falling in the C-USA Championship game. Top seeded South Carolina and fourth seeded Campbell round out the regional pool, which is double-elimination format.
