Maryland NCAA Lacrosse Gamethread: Terps vs Notre Dame

Maryland faces Notre Dame this afternoon, in a massive NCAA SF match-up

Matt Cashore-USA TODAY Sports

Maryland's seen it all this tournament. An exhilarating come from behind win in Round 1 vs Cornell, a blowout QF win over Bryant in Round 2. And now a familiar foe in the Semifinals. Notre Dame. The Terps and the Irish are capping their trilogy at the mecca of college lacrosse: Championship Weekend. Both these teams are desperate for National Championships, Maryland a first since 1975, Notre Dame a first ever. And they're going to put it all on the line to get it. This ones going to be fun.

Maryland enters at 13-3, and the No. 7 seed. Notre Dame enters at 11-5, and the No. 6 seed.

Both of these teams have held similar structures in years past: Great goaltending, defensive powerhouses, grind it out type wins. This year, Maryland is the same but with more offensive weapons and one big one in Mike Chanenchuk, while the Irish have transitioned to a more up tempo style, and a focus on offense.
