Another former Maryland player has found his transfer landing spot, as former Maryland point guard Roddy Peters will transfer to South Florida for his final three years of eligibility, as first reported by CBS's Jon Rothstein. Peters will have to sit out one season to comply with NCAA transfer rules.
Peters, a former four-star recruit, was a highly-hyped Maryland commitment who was a semi-surprise transfer announcement, joining Shaq Cleare, Nick Faust and Seth Allen as players departing the program after this past season. Cleare landed at Texas, Allen committed to Virginia Tech and Faust is still open after Oregon State fired head coach Craig Robinson.
In his one season in Maryland, Peters showed promise but struggled with consistency -- specifically in his ability to hold on to the ball and a shot that needed a lot of work. He averaged 4.1 points and 2.1 assists against 1.8 turnovers per game in 15.1 minutes per contest as a true freshman.
