How'd He Get to College Park?
Carter played both basketball and football in high school. In his senior year, he was awarded First Team All-County and Second Team All-SMAC (Southern Maryland Athletic Conference) for his dominant play as quarterback and defensive back. Carter chose the Terps over other local schools such as Towson, Stevenson and Delaware State.
Profiling the entire team
Carter is one of four defensive backs recruited to the 2014 class. With the depth at the position, he is likely to be redshirted and then run with the special teams until vying for the starting spot at safety in his redshirt sophomore season.
Nickname:
AC Unit- Antwaine Carter: so fresh, so cool.
Career Highlight:
Beating my alma mater high school (Northern~also in SMAC) for an estimated 30 times in a row.
Dream Season:
Earns the starting spot and tackles Leonard Fournette on the goal line to win the National Championship against LSU.
2014 Prospectus:
Carter's size could be very valuable to the future of the Terps secondary. With Anthony Nixon and Sean Davis likely owning the starting jobs and consideing there are eight safeties with more experience than Carter, he is expected to redshirt in his first year in College Park.
The 2014 prospectus may be boring, but the future for Carter, and the Terps secondary altogether is bright. Hopefully Davis and A.J. Hendy can teach him a few things at the higher level.
Up Next:
Our next player's name is (kind of) a complete sentence, and he attended the same high school as one current Terp and multiple Maryland targets.
Standings:
And after a long, painful and enduring battle, timmyw3 prevails with a one point lead. Can he keep ahead of the pack? Stay tuned.
