More bad news out of College Park today, as potential start left tackle Moise Larose has been suspended for one year by the university for a violation of the student code of conduct.
As a true freshman last season, Larose replaced Mike Madaras as the starting left tackle after the sophomore suddenly left the program.. He had also supplanted Ryan Doyle as the first-team left tackle in spring practices, but incoming blue-chip recruits Damian Prince and Derwin Gray were expected to challenge for the position.
Still hope?
With Larose and JuCo offensive tackle Larry Mazyck no longer in the plans this season, that leaves Prince and Gray as now likely starting tackles, unless Doyle or Michael Dunn can hold either one of them off. They both certainly have the talent, but having two true freshmen starting as tackles in their inaugural Big Ten season is likely not what Randy Edsall had in mind.
Larose will likely use this year as a redshirt season, and will have three remaining years of eligibility.
